WANT A WEBSITE?

I believe it is the prospect of unknown, ongoing costs, that keeps business owners from taking the plunge and getting a website so I CHARGE A FLAT FEE OF $2,000 WHICH COVERS EVERYTHING (within reason) FOR ONE WHOLE YEAR. (When I say within reason, a good example is Monthly Specials are ok, but Weekly Specials are not.) This fee is paid in two payments. The first half is paid on conception. The second half is paid one month later when the design is complete. (Being a fellow human, you can negotiate a payment plan with me if you need it.) You then have me as your web person for the rest of the year. By the end of one whole year, you will have a really good idea of whether you wish to continue with your website.

I also believe websites need to be easy to navigate, simple to understand and have a memorable look that is absolutely representative of you/your company/your project, etc., so I build my websites in HTML code. This means that I do not use templates, plug-ins, moving gifs, java etc. I build in code, nice and clean, so your website will be nice and clean, easy to navigate and have a look uniquely yours. (A good analogy is that creating a website is like baking a cake. I make it from stratch rather than using a packet mix.)

Creating a website involves a few steps. I take care of them all. There are a few different components; one is creating the website, another is hosting the website and a very important component is that of editing, to keep your website current. Think of the website as being like an information brochure, up there 24/7 for all the world to see. Hosting is like the rent you pay for the space on the internet. Editing is the all important job of keeping your website current, for example you might have changes in staff, products etc. The name of the space you have on the internet is called the Domain Name, which must be registered. I CHARGE A FLAT FEE OF $2,000 WHICH COVERS EVERYTHING (within reason) FOR ONE WHOLE YEAR.

  1. Together we decide on a domain name that will suit your business/idea/project (for example I have this one www.lynne.com.au and www.singingforeverone.com for my teaching). I then register that domain name.

  2. I then suggest a look that best suits your business/idea/project ie colour scheme, artwork (I can take this look from your logo, business card or letterhead if you have one). Keep in mind that graphics are good for websites! A good logo is great, but if you don't have that, photos really help.

  3. Once you have approved the design, I build your website

  4. I set up the hosting

  5. I set up your emails

  6. I upload your website

  7. Your website will be up for the world to see for one calendar year.

I charge $2,000 to do this work, a one off fee that covers all your website needs for one whole year. The time frame for building is approximately one month from conception to finished product, but I have found that there are always small changes along the way, hence my fee now covers you for a proverbial "teething period" of ONE WHOLE YEAR. After a year, you will have a really good idea of whether you wish to continue with your website, or not. You can then choose to continue with me as your website person, or to outsource the various components.

If you are thinking of Specials for your website, please note that Monthly Specials are included in this agreement, but Weekly Specials are definitely not.

If you do decide to stay with me after the initial year is up, I charge $150 per year hosting fee and for editing I charge in minimum 15 minute increments at $15.00 per 15 minutes. (I can do a LOT in 15 minutes if you are clear with your instructions!)
